My work is based on formal continuities that are consistent throughout each body of work, informing the creative evolution from painting to painting. This creates a visual language that synthesizes various types of painting such as monochromatic painting, painting through materiality, abstraction, and process based art. By taking these creative risks I play with the idea of perception—how we understand painting, how it is experienced, how it evolves over time, and how the continuous synthesis of various pictorial languages can stimulate an inquisitive practice.
